Our Installation Process
Over the years, we’ve expanded our knowledge and fine tuned our techniques which has allowed us to develop the following installation process. By using this method, we’re able to ensure top-notch window film performance and clarity as well as an above satisfactory experience for our clients:
Step 1: Our process begins with a thorough onsite consultation. By conducting a detailed examination of your building, we’re able to achieve a better understanding of your situation. This also allows us to take site measurements and establish a plan. We also discuss your goals and concerns for the project during this time. At the end of your consultation, we’ll work with you to set a time and date for the installation that works well with your schedule.
Step 2: Before arriving for the appointment, we conduct all the necessary preparations for the installation. We cut all of the film with a plotter in order to speed up the process and minimize product waste. Once we arrive for the install, we clean all of the windows and apply C-Bond I as a primer.* The film is then applied to the prepared glass.
Step 3: Last, we add the final touches to the project. We squeegee out all of the C-Bond primer, remove the excess, and clean the edges of the windows.* Then we inspect the glass and film to make sure that there are no imperfections. After about 24-72 hours, the adhesive is fully set and the project is officially complete.**
**Please note, for projects that are not applied with C-Bond, it may take up to four weeks for the film to achieve full clarity and adhesion. In certain cases that involve well-shaded areas or interior rooms that lack sunlight, there can be adhesion problems when C-Bond is not used for the installation.
*This step does not apply to projects that do not involve C-Bond primer.
Why We Use C-Bond
Traditional methods of installing window film typically use soap and water. While this technique works, it doesn’t actually do anything to improve the glass. That’s what makes C-Bond the better primer. C-Bond alters glass at the molecular level to make it stronger and more resistant to breaking. In fact, it’s so effective that it has the ability to:
- Increase glass strength by at least 100%
- Prevent cracking from temperature differences
- Defend against hail, golf balls, and lawn mower rocks
- Speed up the drying time for window film
- Improve window clarity during installation
More Information About C-Bond Systems
C-Bond is a new advancement that’s only recently emerged on the window film market. Because of its proven effectiveness, we use C-Bond I on nearly all window film installs. However, we also offer C-Bond II, a system of window film and layered primer, for businesses looking for a ballistic resistant product.
